Saint Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick’s day is an Irish holiday celebrated on March 17th, where you get to dress up like a leprechaun or wear green! The Irish tradition of wearing green on Saint Patrick’s day is based on an old folktale that says that leprechauns like to pinch anyone they can see, and they can’t see you if you’re wearing green.

Even though leprechauns aren’t real, it’s still fun to dress up in green to get into the Saint Patrick’s Day spirit! Elementary students can dress up in green if they want to, but it won’t count for colour house points.

For high school students, we will be playing a game where the boys can’t talk to girls. Boys will be given a clover, which is basically their “life”, and if they talk to a girl, they’re out of the game and they have to give her the clover. Boys, if you succeed in not talking to the girls for the whole school day, (with exceptions that will be explained in homeroom on Thursday), you can take your clover to Mr. Sturhahn’s class after school to get a treat. Good luck!
