With Easter just around the corner, we get the opportunity to reflect on the blessing of Jesus’ sacrifice. Three days after his crucifixion, death, and burial, Christ miraculously rose from the grave. His triumph over death provided a path to our redemption from sin. Because he paid the ultimate price, our relationship with God is reconciled, and we can spend eternity in heaven with him.
Matthew 28:6: "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay."
This is where the heart of Easter lies; the death and resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Of course, everyone loves chocolate and easter eggs, but when we celebrate Easter, our greater focus should be on Him. His gift of grace, redemption, and eternal life is our celebration. He gave his only Son to die for each of us, so we may be saved. So when you rejoice in the Easter Spirit, remember how deep His love for you is, and how great of a gift He offers us.
1 Peter 1:3-4: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you."
